Why send mail as 'Yourname@aol.com' or 'Yourname@hotmail.com' ?
Send and receive mail as 'YourName@Nyack55.com'.
If you are a Nyack HS Class of '55 classmate, you can have a 'vanity' e-mail address.

This is a web-based e-mail account similar to Yahoo or Hotmail, but without the ads. You can use it anywhere in the world where you can access the internet.
If you already have your own e-mail account with your ISP, you can use this as a second account, or as your main account (See option 3 below).
If you do not have your own e-mail address, or internet access, or even a computer, you can use this Nyack55.com address when you use a computer with internet access at work, at school, at the library, at your kid's house, or from wherever you are reading this right now.

To use this e-mail account, it must be set up by a site administrator (Bob Merkert or me). The administrator will set up your account using your preferred username and password. Once set up by either of the administrators, it cannot be changed by you without going through one of the administrators who must make the changes.
This means that the administrator will know your username and password, but all is not lost.

There are three mail handling options for your account:

1. Send and receive Nyack55.com e-mail from this web mail account. Use it like Hotmail.
If you choose this option, your e-mail will be stored on our server and you will have to sign in to send and read mail and maintain your mailbox (empty the junk).

2. Send and receive Nyack55.com e-mail from this account and also have mail forwarded to your regular e-mail account. Use it like Hotmail and/or read the forwarded mail from your regular e-mail account. If you choose this option, in addition to mail being forwarded to your regular account, your e-mail will be stored on our server and you will have to sign in to maintain your mailbox.as in option 1, above.

3. Have your Nyack55.com e-mail forwarded to your regular account without being stored at Nyack55.com.
If you choose this option, your Nyack55 mail will just pass through our webmail server and will not be stored there, so you never have to login to read your mail or maintain your account. Additionally, since your mail is not stored there, there is no mail to be read by anyone, including you.

If you want to set up an account at Nyack55.com, send me an e-mail and include the following information:
A. How you want your mail handled (option 1, 2, or 3) and;
B. If you want your nyack55.com forwarded as in #2 or #3, the e-mail address where it is to be sent, and;
C. The username you want to use (what goes before the @Nyack55.com), and;
D. The password you want to use (although not needed for #3, the account requires a password to set up, so I would like you to send me a password so I don't have to make one up)

Your username and 'Nyack55' are not case sensitive when sending mail. You can send mail using 'YourName', 'yourname', 'YOURNAME', or any combination of capitalization. However, when logging in to your mail account at Nyack55.com, your username and password, as created, are case sensitive.
